Give Away with Geo-Graphical Prints!

Today, I come bearing great news. I am excited to announce the first give away here on the blog… and I am even more excited to tell you who and what it’s all about.

My good friend, Barrett Hillenburg has recently produced a fantastic line of prints. His Geo-graphical prints had me at hello when he first shared them with me. He took a fresh spin on the traditional state prints to create a more personal and fun way of representing and owning your hometown.

Here is a little Q & A with Barrett to allow you guys a little insight into what the idea was behind the geo-graphical prints, as well as what sets these prints apart from the other state prints!

What inspired you to create this line of Prints?

The first Geo-Graphical print (Missouri) was created to spur some creative juices. I work a design job where I don't have absolute freedom of creativity - it's a lot of designing something someone else has already thought up. I sat down one day and created something I liked and I thought others would like them too. As I showed the prints to friends and family, it became obvious that people were interested in getting a copy for themselves.

What is the purpose behind Geo-Graphical Prints?

The ultimate purpose behind Geo-Graphical Prints is to connect with people. When people purchase a print and hang it on their wall, they are inviting our artwork into their home, their work, their lives. It's a special thing to be able to connect with people through something like that.

Every person, no matter where they come from, has an enormous sense of pride about their hometown or home state. That is the beauty of these prints - everyone can use one in their home. There isn't a specific demographic, gender, age or type of person that these prints are for. They are for all.

I love how the Prints are so unique and specific and that they give info into a bit about that location. Tell us a little bit about why you decided to include that on the prints!

The little small details are my favorite part of these prints. The prints are clean and simple, but offer such a great look into that specific location. The small details about the locations, such as the demonym, area code and exact location offer details about that location that not many people may know. When I create these prints, I try to find the most iconic elements of that location for the small images each print contains; it's such a fun way to represent the different locations. Probably my favorite part of the prints is the nickname at the bottom. Each location has such a unique nickname that provides some small insight into that location.

I really love these prints and can’t wait to get them up in my home!

To enter the giveaway you must follow through with these two things:
-Comment on this post with the city/state/country and color combination you would want to have in your home or office!

Calendar For A Cause

My talented friend, Sein Kwon is a part of a traveling worship ministry called Heartsong. Heartsong is a group of 6 female vocalists, 6 male vocalists, and 10  instruments.
They have recently been provided the opportunity to travel to Italy and sing in several churches, as well as the Colosseum. This is such an exciting opportunity! Sein is trying to fundraise her money so that she is able to go.
For those of you who don't know, Sein is a very talented photographer and blogs over at Seinbox.blogspot.com. She is the most kind hearted gal I know, her friendship is most meaningful and irreplaceable, she is a bright light in the Lord's Kingdom.
Sein got together with 12 photographers around the U.S. to put together this beautiful 2014 Calendar that she is selling for $10 a piece (+$2 for shipping). 100% of the proceeds is going towards her trip.
If you are interested in purchasing one of these beautiful calendars, email Sein at seinboxphoto@gmail.com.

Nineteen

{photo by Nathan Stracke.}

Sunday I turned nineteen.
My eighteenth year has been one of the best years yet.
I've learned a lot about myself and have developed all together into more of who I want to be as a person. This has also made it one of the most difficult years so far, it has held a lot of realizations and changes.
I've made more valuable friendships this year than ever before.. but at the same time I've felt lonelier than i ever have before at certain times.
I've found more creative outlets through my blog and my developing hand at photography... These are a couple of my favorite accomplishments.
I committed myself to a very wonderful man at the earliest part of my eighteenth year.
I have traveled to Europe... This is probably one of the greatest highlights of my eighteenth year & a terrific  way to finish it off.
I've started out my nineteenth year by switching jobs... I now work as a barista at a local natural food store, an endeavor I am more than excited to begin. I have transferred to a community college in my town... I am going to focus on where I want to direct my life educationally there.
I finish finals next week & my first semester of college.
As soon as school is out I plan to start summer by chiseling away at some of this years' goals.
I want to read more, be more devoted to the people and activities I love, travel every time I get a chance, practice photography, begin many new hobbies, sew more, play outside, save money, & foremost, become more passionate about my purpose on this earth.
I love that my birthday is at the start of Spring. Spring in many ways symbolizes new beginnings. I can't wait to see how the last year of my teens turns out. I plan to make it extra special.

Roma, Italia

In Rome we visited the Colosseum, we saw the Palatine Hills and the Roman Forum, we walked original roman roads, and ate eggplant & zucchini pizza, fried artichokes, and coconut gelato. We bought a few pastries and ventured through a closing-up street market. We toured the Vatican City and St. Peter's square and church. We saw the Pantheon, made wishes into the Trevi Fountain, and enjoyed magnificent cappuccinos.

I miss this country a lot. The experiences I had here were irreplaceable and unforgettable. I hope and pray to visit Italia again. Next time I would love to wonder into small-town life and explore more of the country side of Tuscany. Although, anywhere in Europe would be impeccable.
Thank you for taking the time to sift through my photos and memories of these beautiful cities. I'm so happy I got to share them with you.
