Transform the Mundane | Tips for a happier week

-Put your head phones in while grocery shopping & listen to something up beat, don't be afraid to bust a dance move or mouth the lyrics to your favorite song.
-Exercise & don't make excuses! Take your pup for a walk, it's good for both of you. Find out what days the closest yoga studio offers community classes at a cheaper price & ask your friends to go too!
-Make a meal you're proud of. Plan ahead to roast a whole chicken using fresh herbs. (Don't forget to include your greens!)
-Light candles… all the time.
-Go to the library & pick up a book that you don't have to commit to. Find something you've always been curious about & learn something new.
-Rent a movie.
-Bake something & give it away.
-Listen to music you don't normally listen to; try 60s French Pop or symphonic!
-Buy yourself flowers at the grocery store.
-Have friends over for a late drink on a whim.

And always take pictures of the mundane, find ways to make your routine more beautiful, I promise it will make life more enjoyable. Pretend the flowers bloom for you.

With love,
Sarah

Black & White Film

Here are some photos that have been stimulating me lately.
I've not been able to get away from combining efforts to create something with my Canon AE-1 & rolls of Black and White film. There is a lot of exploration to be found this year & I'm enjoying delving into it.

All photos cited on my pinterest.

Many Beautiful Changes

Oh friends, I hope my absence from blogging hasn't caused any loss of interest. My life lately has been in a crazy, beautiful transition. On June twenty-first Nathan and I got married!!! There is so much busyness and manic that leads into planning a wedding, so that is my unconvincing excuse for not consistantly writing.

There are so many things I want to tell you about that day; the most magical, precious day of my life… I could go on for hours about the small details and how I'm going to treasure everyone of them, but instead I'm going to let pictures speak for my words. We had three of our close friends document our wedding day. Christian Gideon shot digital photography, our friend Roger Ellsworth flew in and shot all black & white film, and David Fiser came in to shoot video. I am looking forward to sharing my favorite bits and pieces from our special day with you.

If I could, I would post the lot of them on this page, but instead I'll do my best to curate them and post each of the boys' work separately. In the mean time you guys should pop on over to Christian, David, and Roger's blogs to sift through these photos yourself and see their amazing work. We were so lucky to have our talented friends experience this day with us and document it in their unique ways. We will cherish these forever.

Once again friends, thank you for being patient with me while my life makes a huge alteration.

Warmly // Sarah

Calendar For A Cause

My talented friend, Sein Kwon is a part of a traveling worship ministry called Heartsong. Heartsong is a group of 6 female vocalists, 6 male vocalists, and 10  instruments.
They have recently been provided the opportunity to travel to Italy and sing in several churches, as well as the Colosseum. This is such an exciting opportunity! Sein is trying to fundraise her money so that she is able to go.
For those of you who don't know, Sein is a very talented photographer and blogs over at Seinbox.blogspot.com. She is the most kind hearted gal I know, her friendship is most meaningful and irreplaceable, she is a bright light in the Lord's Kingdom.
Sein got together with 12 photographers around the U.S. to put together this beautiful 2014 Calendar that she is selling for $10 a piece (+$2 for shipping). 100% of the proceeds is going towards her trip.
If you are interested in purchasing one of these beautiful calendars, email Sein at seinboxphoto@gmail.com.

Our Engagement

As most of you know Nate & I got engaged back in September on our trip to Oregon. It was the most perfect moment created. This man walked into my life a couple of years ago and made it so much better. I love him much.
Last month, our dear and talented (not to mention beautiful) friend Kinsey ventured with us to Arkansas to capture some official Engagement Photos. Kinsey did an incredible job, of course. I had to share with you all way too many photo's from the shoot, because there are too many goodies to keep them all to my self. I hope you enjoy this little photo story.
